Glastonbury Festival's Michael Eavis CBE found some sunshine at Weston Super Mare General Hospital last weekend when he was invited by the Sunshine Hospital Radio team to open their refurbished studio. The refurbishment, which cost £25,000, took two years to raise and rebuild the studio, which is now wheelchair accessible, and was completed in time for the station's 40th anniversary and the NHS70 celebrations.
Just before he cut the ribbon Michael Eavis said " You've raised an amazing amount, and what a tremendous job, you should all be very proud"
Chair of Sunshine Hospital Radio, Jo Newey said "It's taken a lot of hardwork and determination from our volunteers to get this point, but the goal of entertaining the patients and bringing smiles to the wards has always been a powerful incentive"
The station will be celebrating it's 40th anniversary on September 28th and invite you to join them tickets are available
