Homewares retailer, Lakeland, joined forces with the Cumbria Community Foundation to expand the company’s reach into local communities and show its gratitude and ongoing support for the Cumbrian community where the business was founded more than 50 years ago.
The myLakeland Fund supports community projects in and around Windermere, Kendal, and South Lakeland, and has awarded Bay Trust Radio a grant of £3,050 to enable the radio station to attract new volunteers and purchase notebooks, microphones and headphones which will enable volunteers to broadcast from home.
John Williamson Station President and Vice Chair said:
“With this support we can attract new volunteers and especially if they are unable to travel to our studios based in Kendal. We thank Lakeland from the bottom of our hearts.”
Bay Trust Radio provides a local radio service on DAB+ across South Cumbria and North Lancashire and to local hospitals including Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
