The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) is calling on its members to write to their newly elected Westminster MP to ask them to support and commit to the future of hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting organisations.
With many of its members facing challenges including patient entertainment system providers, diversifying broadcasting methods & expanding their reach through WiFi and internet streaming, HBA is asking for MP’s support for the following initiatives:
1. To ensure that central government recognise that health and wellbeing radio stations are essential for health bodies to help promote living a healthier lifestyle.
2. For central government to support hospital, health and wellbeing radio by supporting the NHS to provide the infrastructure within hospitals and general practice.
HBA has asked its Member Stations to encourage their MP’s to support its pledge by writing a letter so that MP’s will receive it when parliament returns in January after the Christmas recess.
Representatives of HBA Member Stations can download a letter template to adapt and send to their MP along with further information and guidance available in HBA’s Member Resources.
