We have responded to the recent Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport's consultation on small scale DAB and think this is an important way forward for hospital radio with the uncertainty surrounding the future of the bedside entertainment system providers, and with many hospital radio stations' converting to the new Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We have asked DCMS to consider:

  • Allowing hospital broadcasters who are a CIO and don't already hold or cannot obtain a community radio licence, because one is not available in their area, access to small scale DAB
