In light of the recent COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the Trustees of Radio Horton agreed to make a generous donation of £150 to the Oxford Hospitals Charity, which is supporting staff at the Horton General Hospital including those who are working in areas directly impacted by the coronavirus.
In a letter sent to the Oxford Hospitals Charity, on behalf of the Radio Horton Committee, Chairman, Anthony Brown wrote: “We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the incredibly hard work that you and your team have undertaken in the midst of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and recognise the invaluable support that Hospital Charity is providing to Doctors, Nurses, Clinicians, clerical staff, cleaners, porters, admin staff and all at the Horton General Hospital and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.”
The Banbury-based hospital, health and wellbeing radio station, which is now in its fifty-sixth year of broadcasting wanted to show solidarity with its colleagues who have been working hard to care for and look after patients.
“As a charity ourselves, based within the Horton General Hospital, we appreciate the challenges involved with fundraising and wanted to acknowledge our full support to you through this global pandemic and to show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with everybody working in our hospitals during these difficult and unprecedented times.”, the letter continued.
“It is hoped that our contribution will assist in providing vital access for our hospital staff to support, goods and/or services that they may need and we offer our heartfelt thanks for your incredible work, it really is very much appreciated.”
Joe Baker from the Oxford Hospitals Charity (including the Horton General Hospital Charity) expressed his thanks to Radio Horton: “Thank you so much for the kind donation and for the support that you are giving us during this challenging time.”
