The volunteers of hospital and community Radio Tyneside got a huge surprise recently at a party organised to celebrate their Chairman, Dave Nicholson’s 50th anniversary with the station.
As part of the evening, their President, ITV presenter Ian White, gave a special talk with Dave Nicholson, in which they looked back over the last 50 years at the station and discussed the station’s plans for the future.
Ian White was joined by John Goodman from the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Charity who presented Radio Tyneside with a cheque of £50,000 to help the station with their plans to go digital.
Chairman, Dave Nicholson said that he was blown away with the kind donation, and that this donation will help the station with going digital much sooner.
