Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd, a registered charity, are proud to be supporting Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station on their special charity night on the 25th August 2023.
Between 8-9pm, there will be a dedicated Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station programme with presenters Yvonne Gallienne and Sarah Wynn Griffiths highlighting the challenging and valuable work of Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station.
There will be special interviews live from the Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station with John Pulford, Volunteer Press and Visits Officer at Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat and Paul Blackwell and Dave Owen, who both volunteer at Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station as crew members.
During this inspirational charity show, Yvonne and Sarah will be raising awareness of the fantastic work of Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat Station, and sharing information on how listeners can support the charity through volunteering and fundraising opportunities.
Following the charity programme, a special archive programme from 1979 with be broadcast on Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd (then Hospital C + A) featuring Richard ‘Dic’ Evans, Coxswain of Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat, who served 50 years and received two RNLI Gold Medals for heroic rescues at sea.

Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd was named the UK’s ‘Hospital Radio Station of the Year 2022’ by the Hospital Broadcasting Association and also won the ‘Bronze’ award for ‘Digital Station of The Year’ in the 2022 Community Radio Awards.
The station is going from strength to strength – working on special charity programmes to highlight the valuable work of local and national charities, and numerous outside broadcasts supporting fantastic events including Bangor Garth Pier Music Festival 2023, North Wales Pride 2023, Relay For Life 2023 and the NHS’ 75th Birthday.
