Double celebrations are in order for Torbay Hospital Radio, not just because they’re celebrating 45 years of Torbay Hospital Radio this month, but also the station will soon be launching on FM across the area.
The station will be available to those working or staying in Torbay Hospital and the nearby vicinity via 95.9 FM.
This is a great milestone for the station as the last few years with the pandemic and the retirement of the bedside systems has made it a lot harder for them to reach their core listeners – the patients and staff of Torbay Hospital.
The stations next goal is to get mini radios to share with the wards, so everyone has the chance to tune in.
Lee Thomas, Chairman of Torbay Hospital Radio commented:
“This marks a huge milestone for Torbay Hospital Radio in our 45 year history, broadcasting on 95.9FM allowing us to reach more patients and helping to reduce boredom and anxiousness and providing health and wellbeing awareness to all that listen at Torbay Hospital. I am extremely proud of all the support and hard work that our volunteers put into making Torbay Hospital Radio a great station to listen to and to be apart of.
To celebrate the launch and the stations 45th birthday, they have a full schedule of programmes lined up from 9am on Saturday 19th February 2022.
The team will also be at Shiphay and Kingskerswell Co-Op stores, where you’ll get to meet more of the team, find out more about what we do, and listen in. The Co-Op has been a great support for Torbay Hospital Radio. At the moment, if you’re a Co-Op member and shop at either the Shiphay or Kingskerwell stores and choose us as your chosen charity and we’ll get a donation too.
